At the University of Rochester, Wilmot Cancer Center, we know that the success of data-driven decision making is dependent on the overall integrity and reliability of the curated data. To maintain that requires a robust validation process, and the Data Validation Application is designed to significantly streamline and simplify that process.
This tool not only identifies missing data elements, but also includes an advanced AI system which detects mismatches in key data elements. Once identified, both the data requiring attention and the supporting evidence are presented to the user for review and processing.
Features:
- User-Friendly Interface:
- The platform is composed of multiple tabs – one for each of the data sets the user wishes to review.
- Quick Filtering:
- Users can sort data by specific providers, clinical trials, and a data range of upcoming appointments
- Evidence Highlighted:
- When a patient has conflicting information, that information is highlighted so the user can quickly review the key issue.
- Multiple Data Elements:
- The tools processes data from across the patient profile including contact information, race, ethnicity, vital status, etc.
- Registry Validation:
- The tool ensures that our systems are always up to date with NYS cancer registry systems by comparing data elements from both the registry and the EHR system in real time and displaying patients with mismatched data values for immediate investigation and correction.
The Data Validation Application increases the accuracy, precision, and reliability of crucial health-care data while reducing the workload on staff. It safeguards the validity of our information, ensuring we always have the most accurate data at our disposal, helping to make reliable data not just a goal, but a given.
