ADI Lookup is a web-app designed to provide healthcare providers immediate access to their patients’ critical socioeconomic information to deliver a more comprehensive level of care.
The ADI calculation is the gold standard in measuring socioeconomic need as it is based on several socioeconomic factors, including income, education, employment, and housing quality, each playing a pivotal role in determining ADI values.
With ADI Lookup providers at the University of Rochester, Wilmot Cancer Center can view the Area Deprivation Index value of a single patient or access the values for multiple patients with upcoming appointments. The values help providers to understand the potential needs of their patients more broadly and to proactively strategize their care plans to improve patient outcomes.
Features:
- User-Friendly Interface:
- The platform is composed of two tabs: one to access the ADI value for a single patient and the other for multiple patients.
- Quick Filtering:
- Users can search on a single patient id number, or filter several patients by Provider Name, Appointment Date Range, and Appointment types.
- State and National ADI Values:
- State ADI values range from 1 to 10, while National ADI values scale from 1 to 100. In both ranges, lower values signify lower levels of socioeconomic "disadvantage" while higher values indicate higher levels of "disadvantage".
- Multiple Geographic Levels :
- The street address-based ADI represents the closest match to the census data, providing the most precise and localized insights. County and state-based averages, while providing a broader view, are calculated based on the average match within the respective geographic boundaries, not the exact match. State-level data is anchored in NY.
- Key for Non-Numeric Values :
- A quick guide to ADI suppression codes and definitions is built into the user interface to facilitate understanding.
- Continuous Integration of New Data :
- The data provided by ADI Outlook is continually recalculating to accommodate patient address changes as well as changes in our catchment.
By making this information available instantaneously, ADI Lookup represents the amazing intersection of technology and healthcare, redefining the way providers approach patient care, and offering the potential for improved patient outcomes across the board. To ensure a comprehensive understanding of the ADI, additional information is readily accessible at the Neighborhood Atlas website.
