ABMS Specialty Boards and MOC Part IV Requirements
All 24 specialty boards participate in the MOC program, but only the 18 ABMS Participating Boards listed below are a part of the national Multi-Specialty MOC Portfolio Approval Program granting URMC the approval to review, award and report the granting of credit for MOC Part IV QI projects. Below are the current participating and non-participating specialty boards, and links to their individual sites noting specific MOC requirements.
The national Multi-Specialty MOC Portfolio Approval Program in partnership with the URMC MOC Program is only one of the pathways available for physicians to obtain MOC Part IV credit. The CUSOM MOC Program is not an approved pathway for all ABMS Member Boards. Individual physicians and physician organizations may choose to submit quality improvement efforts to individual specialty boards for approval, or to the URMC MOC Program if their specific board is participating in the national Multi-Specialty MOC Portfolio Approval Program. Individual specialty boards offer a variety of pathways for physicians to receive MOC Part IV credit.
