The Center for Musculoskeletal Research (CMSR) is comprised of highly integrated faculty and trainees from a variety of departments, including Orthopaedics & Physical Performance, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Medicine (Allergy/Immunology and Rheumatology and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism), Biomedical Genetics, Biochemistry & Biophysics, Environmental Medicine, UR Clinical & Translational Science Institute (CTSI), Pharmacology & Physiology, Microbiology & Immunology, and Pediatrics.
Principal investigators from these various departments share research space and facilities that support over 100 scientists with common research interests while working in a programmatic manner to address the most challenging questions in the musculoskeletal sciences.

The Core Services in the CMSR are a result of the strategic restructuring of resources in order to improve efficiency, accelerate the pace of research, and facilitate the translational studies of our NIH funded research programs.
The CMSR is home to a formal T32-supported training program aiming to provide a comprehensive didactic and research education as well as career development mentoring to future scientists in the musculoskeletal field.
The CMSR fosters collaborative research between laboratories and investigators. Our varied faculty's cutting edge research spans several areas of musculoskeletal research.
