Private Patient Room Tower Project Placed on Hold and Test Piling Update

Highland is keenly focused on its response to the outbreak of COVID-19 in our community, and as such, we must remain flexible on when we can commence construction on the planned private patient room tower. We are currently holding for 90 days and will reassess the construction schedule this summer.

Professional Office Building Garage Refurbishment

Highland’s Professional Office Building Garage will undergo a refurbishment starting on Saturday, April 4 at 7 a.m. until Sunday, April 19 at 6 p.m.

Installation of Test Piles for South Tower Project

Installation of Test Piles for South Tower Project

The construction of the South Tower involves the installation of a number of piles into the ground. These piles are needed for the building’s foundation. A test pile will be installed on the South Building, nearest to Mt. Vernon Street on Tuesday, March 31 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. This will be done to gain final insight of the structural properties of the ground and confirm pile design and configuration.

Maintenance work will occur on Saturday, March 28

Maintenance work will occur on Saturday, March 28

Maintenance work will occur on Saturday, March 28 from 2 p.m. until midnight. During the course of the work, three to four vehicles will be in use and running at the hospital loading dock. Residents may experience some noise and odors.  We are making every effort to reduce impact to our neighbors.  Thank you for your patience.

MRI Replacement Project & North Lot Wall Update

MRI Replacement Project

The MRI Replacement Project, which began in September 2019, remains on schedule.

The new MRI equipment was delivered last Friday and installation began on Saturday.  The temporary wooden stairs on Bellevue Drive have been removed and the window has been replaced. On Thursday, Jan. 30, weather permitting, roofers will patch the steel support above the new MRI between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. They may utilize a torch to melt the snow and ice; a smoke eater will be placed on the roof to filter the air around the torch when in use.

The new MRI equipment should be ready for use on March 1.

North Lot Wall Update

The North Lot Wall Project continues to move forward. To maintain the integrity of the wall, additional supports have been designed. The material to complete these supports is on order and expected by mid-to-late February.
