Breaking Up Foundation Wall

Breaking Up Foundation Wall

A previously undiscovered piece of foundation wall has been found beneath the area where crews are building the tower crane pad, and it is currently being demolished. This work is expected to create the same amount of noise and vibration as the last time crews found and disassembled a previously unknown piece of foundation wall. Crews anticipate being done with this work by 5 p.m. today.

Brick removals on the existing hospital and South Building have resumed and are anticipated to continue for another week. Demolition of the former discharge ramp will also continue for another week or two.

Excavation and installation of shoring for the tower crane pad (concrete base) will start on Monday, January 18. This is expected to create noise, but not as much as previous shoring as a different type of shoring system is being used. The crane is scheduled for installation in late summer.
