Services Provided

  1. Study designIdentify the appropriate clinical or pre-clinical study design, target populations, recruitment methods, plans for sample processing and storage, and data collection instruments.
  2. Data analysis and managementAssist with analytical plans and plans for data storage.
  3. Research Coordinator: The TRSC supports effort of a Human Subjects Research Coordinator who can assist Center members with tasks, including identifying potential research participants by pre-screening UR Medicine patient medical records, developing REDCap data capture instruments, preparing scripts for contacting potential research participants, subject recruitment, and sample processing, free of charge.
  4. Human cohorts and biobanks: TSU Directors can direct Center members to established human cohorts and biobanks for new research questions.
  5. Grant preparationAssist with preparation and review of grants for external as well as EHSC Pilot Projects. 
  6. Regulatory affairsProvide guidance about rules and regulations of federally-sponsored human subject research, including protection of participant privacy, identification of potentially susceptible populations, informed consent, and documentation requirements. Assist with preparation of new IRB applications and response to queries.
  7. Translation to Policy and Practice: Help Center members increase the impact of their research by creating frameworks, methods, and training for dissemination and implementation to a boarder audience. 

Translational Sciences Working Groups (TSWG)

The TSU will support Translational Sciences Working Group (TSWGs) to help integrate efforts on specific topics that span themes of the Center. The TSU will help coordinate the TSWG roster, mission statement and initial meetings, with the goals of harmonizing exposure methods, sharing protocols, tools and reagents, identifying human cohorts and clinical samples of interest, and developing collaborative grant applications.
