Program Director
With the goal of being counted among the leading otolaryngology departments in the nation, we focus on state-of-the-art clinical care, research and education in an academic medical center. Applicants to our Otolaryngology Residency Program can expect an enlightened, forward-thinking environment that will test their abilities as a physician, as an agent for ongoing discovery and as a human being. We also promise each resident an open and fair evaluation of his or her application.
The University of Rochester Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce of residents and faculty enriches our academic environment and is essential to providing outstanding patient care. We offer a stipend of up to $1,500 to help offset the cost of travel, room, and board associated with a visiting elective rotation for final-year medical students from backgrounds underrepresented in medicine (URiM), or who have a demonstrated vision and commitment to improving the health status of diverse patient populations via patient care, research and/or teaching. Our subinternship is designed to provide experience working alongside our residents and faculty in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Accepted students will be provided application and career mentorship by faculty leadership and will be paired with a current URiM resident and fourth year medical student to introduce them to the university community.
