Treatments We Offer
What is it like having a procedure for a vein condition? It's actually remarkably easy.
Most procedures are performed in our offices, using minimally invasive techniques and local anesthesia and may take less than an hour. You may be given a mild sedative and will be told this when you schedule your appointment. If you are told you will be given a mild sedative, you should have a friend or relative come along to drive you home.
Procedures we offer:
Compression Therapy: In this treatment, compression stockings are used to apply external pressure to the legs. The pressure helps more blood return from the legs to the heart, reducing leg fatigue, pain and swelling.
VenaSeal™ closure system: the only non-tumescent, non-thermal, non-sclerosant procedure that uses a proprietary medical adhesive delivered endovenously to close the vein.
Vein Ablation: Ablation uses a thin, flexible tube called a catheter inserted into a varicose vein. Tiny electrodes at the tip of the catheter heat the walls of your varicose vein and destroy the vein tissue. As with chemical sclerotherapy, your varicose vein is then no longer able to carry blood, and your body eventually absorbs it.
Sclerotherapy: A solution is injected into the vein, causing its walls to seal shut. This stops blood flow to the vein. Treated veins typically begin to fade within a few weeks. Sclerotherapy is the most common treatment for spider veins and requires no anesthesia.
Ambulatory Microphlebectomy: This treatment is effective on superficial varicose veins that cannot be treated with other methods. Under local anesthesia, tiny punctures or microincisions are made in the skin. The varicose veins are then extracted. Since the incisions are extremely small, no stitches are required and cosmetic results are excellent. Most patients return to normal activities right away.
