Training
The objective of the CALMN is to provide researchers with the knowledge and training for the informed independent operation of our microscopes in the pursuit of high-quality scientific research.
Before preparing samples or purchasing reagents, please contact the CALMN to discuss experimental design and trajectory as well as current instrument capabilities.
Step 1
If you do not already have a PPMS account. Please request one for "Center for Advanced Light Microscopy and Nanoscopy" by completing the New User Registration Form.
Step 2
Please log in to the PPMS online calendar and complete the Training Request form.
Step 3
Once the Training Request form has been reviewed a member of the CALMN team will contact you with follow-up questions and/or to schedule a meeting or training session.
Step 4
Attend individually scheduled training session(s).. Depending on user experience, sample complexity and technique difficulty the length and number of sessions varies. Training can include any of the following: Formal hands-on-training, Video Tutorials, My Path: Laser safety training.
Step 5
When the training has been completed, you will be able to book the system for use during CALMN staffed hours.
Extended Access
Night, weekend and holiday access to systems will be granted upon request once the user has gained sufficient hands-on experience with a specific system.
