Program Details
Our three-year Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The opportunity exists for medicine-pediatrics trained individuals to pursue a combined four-year curriculum. At the completion of this curriculum, fellows are able to become dual certified in both pediatric rheumatology and adult rheumatology.
Research is an integral component of the program and fellows are closely guided by URMC faculty with diverse bench, translational and clinical research interests. Research is introduced in year one and gradually increases until year three. Research mentors in the fellowship program include selected faculty in the Departments of Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics and the Center for Musculoskeletal Research. Fellows in their second and third year submit abstracts for presentations at national meetings and articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
