Who We Are
Who We Are
The Department of Medicine stands as the largest academic department within the Medical Center, encompassing 15 medical subspecialties, each with active research programs. Our extensive research portfolio spans national and international clinical trials, alongside vital basic and translational research.
Advancing this critical work is a collaborative effort driven by our dedicated leadership, skilled administration, and engaged faculty delegates.
Our Leadership Team, including the Chair, Executive Vice Chair, Associate Chairs, and Vice-Chairs for various research areas, provides strategic direction and champions our research mission across all these diverse fields.
The Research Administration Team offers essential support throughout the research lifecycle. Our pre- and post-award specialists partner closely with faculty, university administration (like ORPA and ORACS), sponsors, and collaborators to ensure smooth processes and facilitate success from proposal submission through project completion.
Complementing these efforts are our Faculty Research Delegates, nominated from each division. They play a vital role in building community, advocating for their colleagues, facilitating communication, identifying areas for improvement, and driving new initiatives to expand our research footprint within their respective areas and across the department.
Together, this integrated team works tirelessly to support our faculty researchers, fostering an environment where groundbreaking discoveries in medicine can thrive across our many specialties.
