2025 Research in DEI & Health Equity Symposium

Save the date! The symposium will take place on February 28, 2025.

Call for Abstracts

The Department of Medicine invites research abstract submissions from members of the University of Rochester, including faculty, trainees, nurses, and APPs advancing equity and inclusion in our Rochester communities. This year’s symposium places a special emphasis on research addressing community outreach and engagement, including but not limited to community-based participatory research, community health literacy, outreach efforts to Rochester communities, engaging patient voice in clinical research, and efforts to increase diversity in medical education. However, we will also consider all research tackling all areas of health disparities, including but not limited to anti-racist clinical care, social determinants of health, LGBTQ+ care, equity in education, and workforce diversity. Abstracts can represent either works-in-progress or published research.

If your abstract is accepted for a presentation, you will be expected to give a 10-minute oral presentation, followed by a Q&A, during the symposium. There will also be an option to present a poster that will be on display in person and online in our virtual ePoster gallery.
