Air Pollution and Alzheimer’s Disease
Adverse effects in the respiratory tract and cardiovascular system following exposures to ambient air pollution have been recognized for decades, particularly in those individuals who are made more susceptible due to underlying disease. Mounting evidence suggests that the central nervous system (CNS) is also vulnerable to the adverse health effects that are associated with air pollution.

Characterization of Exposures to Airborne Micro- and Nanoplastics
- Plastic particles seem to be found everywhere we look! This is probably not surprising given the large amounts of plastics that end up in the environment, where they get weathered and degrade over time. However, little is understood about the routes of exposure by which plastics can get into the body and the effects that they have following exposure. We are working to characterize inhalation exposures to plastic particles following airborne exposures.
