Jones Once Again Accredited as Primary Stroke Center

Jones Memorial Hospital has once again been accredited as a primary stroke center for the care they provide stroke patients, as outlined by the Joint Commission.

“This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to providing safe, high-quality care to the communities we serve,” stated Sandra Watkins, Chief Nursing Officer at Jones Memorial Hospital. “The rigorous review process evaluated our compliance with nationally recognized standards for patient safety, quality improvement, and organizational excellence. Reaccreditation by The Joint Commission for Stroke is a significant milestone that reinforces the trust our patients place in us — and our dedication to continually improving care close to home.”

To qualify for this designation, the Jones team demonstrated how the hospital is committed to providing quality care for stroke patients through clinical practices, safety protocols and overall program performance. In addition to the receipt of accreditation from the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center, Jones Memorial is proud to accept this award as recognition for serving the community.

Jim Helms, CEO expressed his admiration for the team, stating, “I’m so proud of the team of professionals, and their commitment to the highest quality of healthcare, who made this possible. Their dedication to serving our patients in health emergencies, such as a possible stroke, in our rural area is why we’re here. We are honored to be able to serve this community.”
