Speech Pathology at Highland Hospital
The Speech Pathology Department at Highland Hospital offers evaluation and treatment for communication and swallowing disorders for both inpatients and outpatients. Our role as speech-language pathologists is to assess communication, cognition, swallowing and voice impairments, diagnose the severity of the problem, and implement a treatment plan to help individuals regain as much of their baseline as possible.
Our therapists focus on three key areas of speech pathology:
- Swallowing Evaluation and Treatment
- Speech/Language Evaluation and Treatment
- Cognitive/Linguistic Evaluation and Treatment
Staffed by Experienced Therapists
Our speech pathologists are licensed by the New York State Department of Education and hold Certificates of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in addition to postgraduate training and certifications in several clinical subspecialties.
