SUMMER 2017 SEMESTER
August
- 2nd, 4:00pm - Last day to submit the final copy of the PhD dissertation to ProQuest for August 2017 degree conferral
- 28th, 4:00pm - Last day to submit the final copy of the PhD dissertation to ProQuest for the October 2017 degree conferral without registering for the Fall 2017 semester
- 31st - August 2017 degree conferral date
FALL 2017 SEMESTER
August
- 30th - Fall 2017 semester begins.
September
- 4th - The University is closed in observance of Labor Day.
- 12th, 4:00pm - Last day to submit final copy of PhD dissertation to ProQuest to fulfill requirements for October 2017 degree conferral
October
- 13th - October 2017 degree conferral date.
November
- 23-24th - The University is closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday
December
- 1st, 4:00pm - Last day to submit final corrected PhD dissertation to ProQuest to fulfill requirements for December 2017 degree conferral
- 22nd - Last day to complete thesis defense registration for defenses scheduled the week of January 2-5, 2018
- 25th-Jan 1st - Blackout Period – no defenses may be registered and no defenses may be held during this period. Defenses to be held during the week of January 2-5, 2018 must be registered with University Graduate Studies by December 22, 2017
- 25th - The University is closed in observance of the Christmas holiday
- 31st - December 2017 degree conferral date
SPRING 2018 SEMESTER
January
- 1st - The University is closed in observance of New Year’s Day.
- 12th - Last day to submit final PhD thesis to ProQuest to fulfill requirements for March 2018 degree conferral without registering for the Spring 2018 semester
- 17th - Spring 2018 semester begins.
February
- 9th - Last day to submit final PhD thesis to ProQuest to fulfill requirements for March 2018 degree conferral.
March
- 9th - March 2018 degree conferral date
April
- 20th - Last day to submit final PhD thesis to ProQuest to fulfill requirements for May 2018 degree conferral
May
- 19th - May 2018 degree conferral date
SUMMER 2018 SEMESTER

- 21st - Summer semester begins.
- 28th - The University is closed in observance of Memorial Day.
July
- July 4 - The University is closed in observance of Independence Day.
August
- 27th - Last day to submit the final copy of the PhD dissertation to ProQuest for the August 2018 degree conferral without registering for the Fall 2018 semester
