Our Mission
It is our program’s mission to train Obstetrics and Gynecology residents to provide medicine of the highest order, expand knowledge, advance medical care through innovation, and who will, in turn, prepare the next generation of leaders in our specialty.

Diverse patient population with broad catchment area
Finger Lakes Regional Perinatal Referral Center
Only Level IV NICU in the region (Golisano Children’s Hospital) which offers a full range of pediatric subspecialty support
Labor & Delivery staffed with MFM faculty, Academic Generalists, Private Generalists and Certified Nurse Midwives
Robust Academic Generalist practices at both Strong Memorial Hospital and Highland Hospital

Electives
Elective blocks are offered during the 3rd and 4th years of residency training
Residents are expected to plan an educationally-oriented elective experience designed to augment the OB/GYN curriculum offered on core rotations. The elective rotation may allow the resident to develop/obtain new skills, explore opportunities not available at URMC, or to build on knowledge and skills from the core rotations.
