Application Process
Prospective residents are invited to interview based on a combination of information provided in their Residency CAS application including:
- Medical school transcript, personal statement, MSPE letter, 3 letters of recommendation, scholastic accomplishments and USMLE/COMLEX scores.
- M.D. applicants must pass Step 1 and Step 2 of the USMLE exam before applying. D.O. applicants must pass COMLEX Level 1 and COMLEX Level 2 prior to applying.
It is the policy of this program to select the most qualified candidates regardless of gender, race, creed, color, national origin, disability, age, or sexual orientation.
All applicants must participate in the NRMP.
International Medical Students may apply for admission to our residency program if you meet all these requirements. We sponsor only J-1 visas at this time. Applicants must have graduated from medical school within the last 5 years and be certified by the ECFMG.
To appreciate the full spectrum of our program, we invite you to attend the resident-hosted University of Rochester Virtual Welcome event held the evening before your interview.
