During the PGY5 or PGY6 year, the resident may pursue a six-month research experience and goals are to work collaboratively, energetically, and productively as an integral member of Royal Melbourne Hospital’s Brain Tumor lab team under the guidance and mentorship of Kate Drummond, MBBS, MD, FRACS. The resident will acquire basic science knowledge on cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying primary brain tumors and achieve a knowledge base of and experience with different neurosurgical experimental models.
