Educational Activities
All fellows will participate in weekly 2-hour teaching conferences led by pediatric emergency medicine faculty and fellows.
Conference types include:
- Case presentation
- Morbidity and Mortality
- Faculty lectures on topics chosen by fellows
- Journal Club
- “Jeopardy” format quiz competition
- Fleisher and Ludwig chapter reviews
Fellows attend cadaver workshops each year, to get experience with critical, but uncommon procedures.
All fellows have the opportunity to attend educational workshops designed for faculty and fellows
All fellows are also invited to attend the URMC Fellow Academic Core Curriculum series, which is held weekly and covers a broad range of topics (teaching, research design, research presentation, grant writing)
Fellows teach to EM residents and Pediatric Residents, both through didactic lectures, and supervising workshops
Fellows become certified in ACLS, PALS and ATLS, and are encouraged to become PALS instructors
