The ACGME accredited, one-year Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at URMC and Golisano Children's Hospital is well recognized for the delivery of outstanding anesthesia services to more than 7,500 children each year. Golisano Children's Hospital provides tertiary care in the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units and recover some of the most critical neonates and children in upstate New York and the Tri-State region.
Our faculty are actively involved in the Society for Pediatric Anesthesiology (SPA). This year's annual meeting included 3 PBLD's from our department, as well as numerous posters and an abstract. Our fellow is actively encouraged to attend and participate. For the past two years our fellow has presented a PBLD at SPA, and all our past and current fellows have presented posters.
About Our Director
We are pleased to introduce Dr. Michael Davis, the Program Director for the Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Davis completed his residency training at the University of Rochester and his fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Since joining the URMC faculty in 2016, he has gained recognition as a distinguished educator in pediatric anesthesiology.
In his previous role, Dr. Davis significantly contributed to pediatric didactics, including the lecture series, complex case presentations, and instruction for challenging airway management. He currently serves as the Director of the Pediatric Multidisciplinary Difficult Airway Course, where he trains fellows and residents from various specialties, including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and Pediatric Anesthesiology. Dr. Davis will continue his educational contributions within the Pediatric Department at Golisano Children's Hospital.
Dr. Davis brings a wealth of expertise, educational and administrative experience, and academic achievement to his role as Program Director for the Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship.
