What Our Graduates Have to Say
Norhan Shamloul, M.D.
MSDO Fellow, Graduate (2025)
My time as the MSDO Fellow at the University of Rochester was instrumental in shaping both my professional and personal growth. I was exposed to the full spectrum of oncologic and reconstructive care—from routine “bread and butter” cases to highly complex scenarios requiring close multidisciplinary collaboration. This experience not only strengthened my clinical skills but also gave me the confidence to manage patients independently while recognizing the value of team-based care. The mentorship I received from Dr. Lambert and Dr. Brown was truly exceptional—so impactful that I chose to stay on and continue working alongside them after fellowship. I cannot imagine a better place to have trained!
Benjamin Kahn, M.D.
MSDO Fellow, Graduate (2024)
The MSDO fellowship at URMC was a transformative year that fully prepared me to practice independently. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Lambert and Dr. Brown—exceptional surgeons, mentors, and now friends—I gained invaluable insights and hands-on experience from day one. The program’s exceptional training is matched only by the caliber of its people. I am profoundly grateful for my unparalleled experience at URMC, and I am confident that anyone joining this program will thrive under such extraordinary mentorship and support.
Molly Marous, M.D.
(Chief Resident 2021-2022), MSDO Fellow, Graduate (2023)
URMC dermatology is a place where I learned how to become a good physician. As a dermatology resident, my mentors were not only world-renowned but also eager to teach and created a supportive environment that fostered education and growth. As an MSDO fellow, I learned how to handle not only routine and complex Mohs surgical cases but also how to approach cases in a multidisciplinary manner. My fellowship directors were dedicated to my learning, and I keep in touch with them to this day. During my time at URMC dermatology, it is clear there is an underlying guiding principle of respect and empathy shared within the department and with patients. It provided unparalleled preparation for me to be a skilled and compassionate dermatologist and Mohs surgeon.
