The Interventional Cardiology Fellowship is a one-year, ACGME-accredited program designed to provide advanced training in diagnostic and interventional procedures within a high-volume cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Clinical Training
Fellows will spend the majority of their time in the cardiac catheterization laboratory at Strong Memorial Hospital, gaining hands-on experience with both diagnostic and interventional procedures under the direct supervision of expert interventional cardiology faculty.
In addition, fellows will participate in:
- Outpatient Clinic: One half-day per week working alongside faculty to manage follow-up care and patient consultations.
- On-Call Duties: Focused exclusively on the interventional cardiology service, with an average call schedule of 1 in 4 weeknights and weekends.
Educational & Research Opportunities
Fellows are encouraged to pursue research and scholarly activities in collaboration with faculty, with opportunities to participate in clinical studies and quality improvement projects.
The program also provides:
- 4 weeks of vacation per year
- 5 days of study leave to attend interventional cardiology-related educational meetings or conferences
By the end of the fellowship year, participants will have fulfilled all ACGME training requirements for board eligibility in interventional cardiology.
