Our Team
Ilan Goldenberg, M.D.
Director
Dr. Goldenberg has been involved in clinical research with cardiac arrhythmias over the past 15 years and this proposed trial is in the area of my expertise as documented by over 500 published papers. He has been serving as PI on more than 50 government supported international clinical trials and registries and industry supported clinical studies and trials. Accordingly, Dr. Goldenberg has substantial experience in clinical trials conduct, organization, design, and data analysis. Over the past 14 years he has been involved in the design and conduction of multicenter clinical trials, collaborating with the Heart Research Follow-Up Program at the University of Rochester and serving at the Director of the Israeli Association for Cardiovascular Trials.
In his current position he serves as the Director of the Clinical Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of Rochester, organizing multicenter trials and the International LQTS Registry, with his active role in the CC and DCC capacities. He also has mentored more than 100 trainees, including medical students, residents and fellows, and PhD applicants.
Jean-Philippe Couderc, Ph.D., M.B.A.
Dr Couderc has dedicated the past ten years to quantitative electrocardiography focusing on the development of novel techniques for the analysis of the ventricular repolarization from the surface ECG in human and in various animal models. Dr. Couderc is the author or co-author of numerous publications in computational science and engineering, numerical analysis, and computer science applied to electrophysiological signals.
He is holding a SGE position at the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research for the US Food and Drug Administration. Dr. Couderc is principal investigator and a co-investigator in several federal-funded research grants. He has been invited for lectures at universities, laboratories, and industrial research centers in U.S and Europe involving consulting experience with industry and national agencies (NIH and EPA).
Valentina Kutyifa, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Valentina Kutyifa holds an MD degree, a PhD in cardiac electrophysiology, a Masters degree in health care management, and a certificate in clinical research from Harvard Medical School, and performs research in cardiac arrhythmias, diabetes, heart failure, and sudden cardiac death.
Her research work encompasses a wide array of studies related to diabetes, implantable cardioverter–defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization therapy, echocardiography, and technology innovations including the wearable cardioverter–defibrillator, subcutaneous ICD, and left ventricular assist devices.
Scott McNitt, M.S.
Scott McNitt currently analyzes data relating to clinical trials and other health and medical outcomes research using bio-statistical techniques. He works with doctors and other medical professional researchers in the preparation of scientific presentations and manuscripts for publication as well as manages the CCRC Analytics group. He has been with CCRC for 16 years and has a Master’s degree in statistics from the University of Connecticut.
Previously, Scott worked in private sector market research as a statistical modeler. Additionally, he was a statistician and director of research with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services. He has also taught statistics at Austin and Dutchess Community Colleges.
Spencer Rosero, M.D.
Dr. Spencer Z. Rosero is Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He currently serves as Director of the Clinical Research Center - the University of Rochester Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (UR CTSI) and as Clinical Director of the Center for Medical Technology and Innovation at the University of Rochester.
He obtained his medical degree at the State University of New York SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, and holds an M.S. degree in Pharmacology from the University of Rochester. Dr. Rosero completed his internal medicine, cardiology and electrophysiology fellowship training at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Wojciech Zareba, M.D., Ph.D.
Wojciech Zareba, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine (Cardiology), Director of Cardiology Clinical Research, and Director of the Heart Research Follow Up Program at University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, NY. Dr. Zareba is Principal Investigator or Co-PI on several NIH and corporate grants focused on risk stratification of cardiac death and on clinical usefulness and prognostic significance of ECG parameters.
He also serves as Principal Investigator of the ECG Core Labs for numerous studies including the International LQTS Registry, the North American ARVD Registry, MADIT II, and MADIT-CRT, large clinical trials testing clinical effectiveness and safety of implantable cardiac defibrillators and resynchronization devices.
