Sandra Jee, M.D., M.P.H.Sandra H. Jee, M.D., M.P.H.

Director of the Finger Lakes Children's Environmental Health Center, Professor - Department of Pediatrics, General Pediatrics & Professor -
Center for Community Health and Prevention

Dr. Jee is a general pediatrician and fellowship trained in Pediatric Health Services Research and Integrative Medicine. She has over two decades of clinical experience as a primary care pediatrician for underserved children, including those in foster and kinship care. Dr. Jee’s clinical work and research has focused on addressing social-emotional problems for underserved children and reducing health disparities. As a parent and pediatrician, she is committed to promoting resilience and healthy living principles through outdoor play and mindfulness. She will counsel families and will educate other health care providers and medical trainees on pediatric environmental health issues, including nutrition, lead exposure, and environmental triggers for asthma.

Richard Miller, Ph.D.Richard K. Miller, Ph.D.

Dr. Miller is a clinical Pharmacologist/Toxicologist by training and has been counseling patients who are planning pregnancies or are already pregnant concerning health risks. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in Teratology. He is the immediate past Chair of the OTIS-ENTIS (Organization of Teratology Information Specialists-European Network of Teratology Information Services) International Research Consortium on evaluating agents that can produce birth defects and past president of the Teratology Society. He is member of the Advisory Board for TERIS (Teratogen Information System). Dr. Miller is also Director of MotherToBaby UR Medicine and a Fellow of the Academy of Toxicology.

Rebekah Prasad, NPRebekah Prasad, N.P.

FLCEHC Environmental Health Scholar

Rebekah Prasad is a Family Nurse Practitioner and an Environmental Health Scholar for the Finger Lakes Children's Environmental Health Center. She has a Bachelor’s of Science from Cornell University, and a Master's from Harvard School of Public Health concentrating in the area of maternal and child health, as well as a Master's of Science from Simmons College where she trained as a nurse practitioner.

Rogelio Perez-D'Gregorio, M.D., M.S.Rogelio Perez-D'Gregorio, M.D., M.S.

Research Assistant Professor – Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Perez-D’Gregorio is a bilingual (Spanish-English) retired OB/GYN with training in Clinical Toxicology, Reproductive-Developmental Toxicology and Placentology. After his training at the University of Rochester 1982 - 1987, he returned to Venezuela, where he was assistant Director of the National Poison Control Center, reproductive toxicology research and Obstetrics. He brings his experience to counseling health care providers, pregnant women and families concerning environmental and therapeutic exposures. He is also involved with our outreach program to community health care providers and families.

Anne-Marie ConnAnne-Marie Conn, Ph.D., M.Ed.

Research Assistant Professor (Part-Time) – Department of Pediatrics, General Pediatrics (SMD)

Dr. Anne-Marie Conn's research is focused on preventing or mitigating the devastating impact on children (and adults) of adverse childhood experiences, such as maltreatment, family dysfunction, and other childhood trauma. This research includes evaluation of the physical and emotional impact of childhood adversity, screening to identify adverse experiences in clinical and community settings, and community awareness and trauma-informed training. Thus, Dr. Conn's work aims to support the social-emotional growth of vulnerable children in their families, communities, and the health care system.

Emily TrawEmily Traw

Emily Traw is the Health Project Specialist for the Finger Lakes Children's Environmental Health Center (FLCEHC) and also the WNY Lead Poisoning Resource Center. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College in Sociology and Environmental Studies. Her experience as a post-partum doula and volunteering with a birth center fostered her interest in maternal health. She is interested in the impact of infrastructure and environmental toxins on birth outcomes and overall neighborhood wellbeing.

Debbie LongbineDebbie Longbine

Public Health Project Spec II

Debbie brings with her the knowledge and skills of more than 20 years' of working at the University of Rochester. Most recently she was administrator in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology where she was responsible for and was the primary point person in overseeing the day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of the division working with both internal and external customers to identify concerns and proactively develop a plan to improve customer satisfaction. Her goal in working with Finger Lakes Children’s Environmental Health Center is to bring her experience to help reach out to the communities we serve and help them identify resources to help the families in their area.

Stanley Schaffer, M.D., M.S.Stanley Schaffer, M.D., M.S.

Professor Emeritus - Department of Pediatrics, General Pediatrics

Dr. Schaffer is a retired pediatrician and Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics. He was the Medical Director of the Rochester office of the WNY Lead Poisoning Resource Center, which is funded by the NY State Dept. of Health, for over 25 years, and is a nationally known authority on childhood lead poisoning. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of Rochester’s Coalition to Prevent Lead Poisoning, and was previously the Interim Medical Director of the FLCEHC.

Casey Rosen-Carole, M.D., M.P.H., M.Ed.Casey B. Rosen-Carole, M.D., M.P.H., M.Ed.

Dr. Rosen-Carole is Medical Director of Lactation Services and Programs at the University of Rochester. She practices outpatient and inpatient Breastfeeding Medicine and Pediatrics. Dr. Rosen-Carole's research focus is in systems change for breastfeeding education and support.

Augusto Litonjua, M.D., M.P.H.Augusto Litonjua, M.D., M.P.H.

Asthma Specialist

As Division Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology, Dr. Litonjua will be responsible for oversight of children that require asthma care and will participate in our Health Care Provider Education Outreach efforts.

Ruth Lawrence, M.D.Ruth A. Lawrence, M.D., D.D. (H)

Distinguished Alumna Professor of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Lawrence is a pediatrician and is subspecialty trained in neonatology and toxicology. She developed the first Poison Control Center in the United States to directly serve the public and she is internationally recognized for her extensive expertise in breastfeeding and therapeutic and environmental exposures. She was also instrumental in developing the National Lactation Study Center at the University of Rochester. Further, Dr. Lawrence helped develop the original NYS Children’s Environmental Health Center at the University of Rochester. Until recently, she directed the development of the Finger Lakes Children’s Environmental Health Center with Dr. Miller and the team.

Dr. Korfmacher is Director of the Community Outreach and Engagement Core for the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences Center at the University of Rochester.

Dr. Pressman is our Ob/Gyn Advisor.

 

Andy Aligne, M.D., M.P.H.Andy Aligne, M.D., M.P.H.

Associate Professor, Dept. of Pediatrics and Center for Community Health and Prevention

Dr. Aligne is the Director of the Hoekelman Center at the University of Rochester which trains pediatric residents in community health and advocacy and builds relationships between pediatricians and community organizations. He is also an advisor for the statewide NYS Children’s Environmental Health Center network.
