Pain Relief

Aspirin and aspirin-related products (Bayer, Ecotrin, Motrin, Advil, or Aleve) are not recommended. Aspirin and aspirin-related products alter platelet function and may be associated with an increased risk of bleeding, especially for people with low platelet counts. Do not use aspirin and aspirin-related products unless directed to do so by your nurse practitioner or physician. If you require pain medication or to control a temperature, your health care provider will recommend acetaminophen (Tylenol).
