Fellowships/Internships
The
Translational Science Interagency Fellowship (TSIF) program is jointly sponsored by National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and aims to provide training in both translational science and regulatory science. The common goal of NCATS and the FDA is to bring safe and effective drugs, regimens and devices from the bench to the bedside as quickly and efficiently as possible. To that end, fellows will be trained in preclinical translational science, technology development, and regulatory research and review. By combining training in translational science and research-related regulatory review, this program will enable fellows to build awareness of regulatory requirements into the early stages of medical product development, improving efficiencies in both the development and review processes. Fellows in this three-year program will develop skills of value to future careers in academia, the pharmaceutical industry and government.
Applications are due January 15, 2021, for an early September 2021 start date.
Please visit the
website for more details on the TSIF format, timeline, fellowship components, eligibility requirements, curricula responsibilities, descriptions of projects and mentors, how to apply and where to send your questions and application.
FDA Fellowship Programs - this is a list of student, fellowship and senior scientist programs offered by the FDA.
The
Harvard-MIT Regulatory Science Fellows program draws individuals of diverse experiences who are passionate about taking a scientific approach to improving the process of getting better drugs or devices to patients faster. During their time in the program, fellows create and execute inter-institutional research projects that will generate guidance or proof of concept pilots that support a more effective framework for accelerating therapeutic innovation, drug safety, and evaluation. This program is open to individuals at different careers stages from new graduates to mid-career faculty and industry scientists and other practitioners recruited from universities, academic medical centers, industry, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies. Fellows will participate in educational lectures and workshops to better understand the important needs in regulatory science and will be mentored by Center faculty as they engage in independent research projects. Fellows may also collaborate with scientists and experts based in companies and regulatory agencies.
Available fellowship opportunities will be posted as they become available.
The
Pharma Foundation's Regulatory Science Fellowship funds scientists at critical points in their research careers to support and reward innovation in disciplines essential to the development of safe and effective medicines through our fellowship and grant programs. Applicants must hold a PhD or appropriate terminal research doctorate in a field related to the proposed activities of this Fellowship or hold a Juris Doctorate (JD) with 1-2 years post-JD experience. The opportunities for this Fellowship will be in Maryland, New Jersey or Pennsylvania and the Fellow must be able to relocate to one of these locations for the duration of the Fellowship. Applicants must have permanent U.S. work authorization.
This program will support Fellows focusing on medicine and medical products exclusively. Those who participate in this program will enhance their individual knowledge and skills while building the expertise currently needed within the regulatory science ecosystem and receive a paid stipend of $70,000 for one year.

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Regulatory Science - UCSF-Stanford Center of Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation (CERSI). The postdoctoral fellowship is an experiential program that will provide outstanding postdocs with unique immersion experiences in regulatory science research at UCSF or Stanford, in industry, and at the FDA. During the 2-3 year program, Fellows will receive a monthly stipend commensurate with education level and experience. Individual interested in becoming a UCSF-Stanford CERSI Postdoctoral Fellow may find more information about the program and application process
