Focusing on the Delivery of Ambulatory Healthcare
Robert Fortuna, M.D., M.P.H., joined our faculty in 2008 from the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Harvard School of Public Health. His work focuses on the delivery of ambulatory healthcare to children, adolescents, and families and incorporates the unusual vantage point of his own medical subspecialty, Med-Peds. His research, both at Harvard and here in Rochester, brings the investigational resources of the academic sector to the study and optimization of practice-based care delivery. For example, he has designed, implemented and tested strategies for using computerized decision support to alter the pattern of use of heavily marketed medications. His current research has focused on understanding young adults’ use of health care in the United States and provides a foundation for potential interventions to improve care.
