Improving Reproductive Health Literacy Among Trainees
Mandy Coles, M.D., M.P.H. is a member of the Division of Adolescent Medicine. Dr. Coles recently conducted a needs assessment of adolescent medicine program directors and fellows that identified gaps in family planning and reproductive health knowledge, practice, and training, and disparities between perceived training offered and reported training received during fellowship. This data is being used to develop and evaluate a curriculum for adolescent medicine fellows that will improve reproductive health service delivery and knowledge, and will enhance the reproductive health competence of future adolescent medicine physicians. This project will take place over the next two years, and is partially funded by the URSMD Dean’s Teaching Fellowship Program. Her mentor in these studies is Constance Baldwin, Ph.D.
