Learning Objectives

• Describe the indications, contraindications and precautions of performing an infant lumbar puncture.
• Identify the pertinent information when communicating the infant lumbar puncture procedure to a parent.
• Correctly perform the steps of an infant lumbar puncture, using the Mastery Checklist as a guide.
