Nephrology Division
Marc B. Lande, M.D.,M.P.H., Chief
The Division of Pediatric Nephrology provides diagnostic and consultative services for infants, children, and adolescents with fluid and electrolyte disorders, hypertension, and primary kidney problems. Specific management of acute and chronic kidney failure by dialytic modalities and kidney transplantation is currently available. Collaboration with Pediatric Urology is a vital part of the clinical kidney program.
Faculty actively engage in research to explore cures and improve the health of infants, children and adolescents who are affected by kidney tubular disorders, hypertension, kidney stones, and chronic kidney diseases.
The division is committed to teaching medical students and house staff the principles of recognizing, evaluating, and treating fluid and electrolyte problems and kidney disease in children. In this regard, the division also serves as a source of continuing medical education for the general pediatric community. More in-depth instruction is provided to physicians who desire to become board certified in Pediatric Nephrology and participate in the Division’s Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship.
