About Us
The Finger Lakes Geriatric Education Center (FLGEC) is the largest regional educational initiative at the University of Rochester Medical Center, reaching over 15,000 health professionals and over 5,000 caregivers annually across a 30-county region of upstate New York. Programs range from activities targeted at health professionals and medical students in initial phases of training through seasoned professionals pursuing continuing education activities, as well as family caregivers. The FLGEC supports distance learning and online training opportunities and has strong partnerships with other academic institutions and community-based organizations including Lifespan of Greater Rochester and the Rochester/Finger Lakes Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, as well as other educational partners across Central and Western New York.
