Express Computing
Four Windows workstations are available to visitors on a drop-in basis for 15 minute periods.
Hours: Same as Library Hours.
Computers Requiring URMC Login
Miner Library More Computing 1-6221
Windows and Macintosh workstations are available in the front of the library.
Hours: same as Library Hours. 24 hours with swipe access privileges.
Miner Library Computing Center 1-6051
Both Windows and Macintosh workstations are provided. In addition to the resources available at other workstations in Miner, you will find statistical software, graphics applications, and educational/training software on these desktops.
Hours: same as Library Hours. 24 hours with swipe access privileges.
Miner Library Room 1-6010
Windows and Macintosh workstations are available in Room 1-1610, the rear annex of the Reading Room.
Hours: same as Library Hours. 24 hours with swipe access privileges.
Group Study Recording Room 1-6223B
Available for reservation to URMC ID holders for up to 4 hours per day. The room is equipped with whiteboards, a multimedia computer running Windows, video editing software, a large monitor for group viewing, and space for up to 4 people. A great space for developing original content or to schedule a zoom interview. You can reserve the room online.
Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Laptop Lending Program
If you have a valid University of Rochester ID, you can borrow a laptop (PC or Mac), from the Answer Desk. These devices may be used anywhere, not just within the library.
Hours: Laptops may be checked out any time the library is open. They are loaned out for the day and must be returned no later than 15 minutes before library closing that day.
Other URMC Computer Locations
Teaching Learning Lab (Second Floor, Room 2-8513) - Medical Student use only
The Teaching Learning Lab contains Windows workstations for medical student use. These computers access many of the resources available in the Computing Center including databases, the Internet, email, word processing and spreadsheet programs, and some instructional software.
Hours: 24-hour swipe access is available to medical students.
PBL Classrooms (12 Problem-Based-Learning Classrooms on the First and Second Floors) - Medical Student use only
Each of the PBL Classrooms contains one Windows workstation for medical student use. The same resources found on the computers in the Teaching Learning Lab are available on the PBL Classroom computers.
Hours: 24-hour swipe access is available to medical students.
