Service Policy
Whom We Serve
Edward G. Miner Library serves primarily University of Rochester Medical Center faculty, staff, and students.
Members of the greater-Rochester community and surrounding areas are welcome to use the library's resources for health and wellness information. Librarians can provide assistance in locating appropriate materials. Community members may use library resources within the library, or print or photocopy materials (subject to US Copyright Law) using the library's self-service printers and copiers. There is a fee for printing and copying.
Access to Library Electronic Resources
Electronic resources to which the library subscribes are governed by license agreements that restrict access to current active University of Rochester Faculty, Staff, and Students. License agreements do not include guests, or retirees.
Computing Center
Resources in the Computing Center are restricted to University of Rochester faculty, staff, and students.
Borrowing
You must have a current University of Rochester photo ID, issued by the Department of Public Safety, to borrow materials.
Literature Searches
Librarians are available to assist current University of Rochester faculty, staff, and students.
Other customers may use the free version of PubMed for their health-related research or contact their institution’s library (i.e. libraries at Rochester General, or Unity hospitals).
Interlibrary Loan and Digitization Services
Current University of Rochester faculty, staff, and students are eligible.
Other customers should contact their institution’s library (i.e., libraries at Rochester General, or Unity hospitals) or their local public library for assistance.
