The role of metabolism in lineage differentiation

In 2022, Patrick graduated from Williams College, having majored both in Biology and Chemistry, with a Concentration in Maritime Studies. His biology honors thesis work with Dr. Allison Gill focused on mechanisms of soil carbon protection. Before joining the Rossmann Lab in early 2023, Patrick worked on the NGEE Arctic project at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the group of Dr. Verity Salmon. In these studies, Patrick developed and performed assays to measure minerals and organic molecules in field samples of soil and plant tissues.

Investigating the role of transcriptional pause-release factors in metabolically regulating cell lineage differentiation

Salome studied biology at the Agricultural University of Georgia in Tbilisi, Georgia. There, at the Institute of Cellular and Molecular Biology, she had her first encounter with zebrafish, first by setting up a zebrafish embryo xenotransplantation system for cancer research, and then by studying principles of Poly-ADP ribose metabolism in zebrafish embryos. In September 2022, Salome joined the Translational Biomedical Science Ph.D. Program at the University of Rochester’s School of Medicine and Dentistry.
