Kimberly Buholtz accepted into Society for Simulation in Healthcare’s Virtual Scholars Program

Kimberly Buholtz, MSEd, RN-BC, Senior Program Manager for Simulation, was accepted into the inaugural cohort of the Virtual Scholars Program through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare for 2020. Designed to foster novice researchers, this year long program couples Kimberly with a mentor in simulation as she develops a healthcare simulation research project along with monthly teleconferences focused on facets of healthcare simulation research. Her planned focus will be designing research focused on utilizing high-fidelity simulation with parents of medically complex children.

As part of the Virtual Scholars program as well as ongoing professional development, Kimberly attended the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH) alongside over 4,000 other healthcare simulation professionals in January. Kimberly was able to bring back simulation design and operation initiatives to enhance current simulation programming within the Center for Experiential Learning. Kimberly will attend IMSH 2021 not only as a participant but a presenter as well, sharing her research project at the conclusion of the Virtual Scholars program.
