How to Apply
Applicants should have completed training in general surgery by the time they begin the fellowship and be board eligible or certified by the American Board of Surgery (or the outside equivalent). They must be also eligible to participate in an ACGME approved fellowship and for medical licensure in the State of New York. Applicants who are not citizens or permanent residents of the United States may be considered only if they would be eligible for a J1 visa during their fellowship training. We exclusively use ERAS for application submissions and participate in the NRMP Match. Applications for the program MUST BE IN SUBMITTED VIA ERAS we will begin reviewing applications and offering interview dates. We will contact you if you are selected for an interview.
Applications and supporting documents are accepted yearly through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Handwritten applications are not accepted. ERAS applications should include all of the following:
- ERAS Common Application Form
- CV and Personal Statement
- USMLE or COMLEX Transcripts
- Medical School Transcript
- ECFMG Certificate
- 3 Letters of Reference (one must be from the current program director, if applicable)
- Publications and Research Experience
