Our Faculty
The faculty is all full-time staff at RP and do not rotate to other hospitals or have clinical commitments beyond Rosewell Park. Each has a major focus in a disease or organ system (e.g. breast, upper GI, hepatobiliary, pancreas, colorectal, endocrine, sarcoma, melanoma, etc.) and specific areas of academic interest. Faculty in Surgical Specialties, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pathology, Radiology and Ancillary Services meet weekly to discuss new and complex cases, giving fellows the broad perspective of Roswell Park’s multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Clinical rotations are disease-site specific and built around faculty members’ expertise in specific types of cancers. This enables fellows to take part in the full spectrum of case management, including preoperative evaluation, multidisciplinary discussion, treatment and postoperative follow-up of the same cohort of patients over several months.
- Because Roswell Park faculty often provide long-term surveillance for their patients, fellows also may become familiar with follow-up strategies and the evaluation and treatment of recurrent disease.
