About the Program
The Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Rochester currently includes six Gynecologic Oncologists, one Medical Oncologist, and seven Advanced Practice Providers (who assist in both the inpatient and outpatient settings). Unique to the division, is the Rochester Center for Sexual Wellness led by Dr. Pebble Kranz who assists our patients with the psychosocial aspects of sexual health, and sexual health and wellness following treatment for a malignancy.
In addition to Phase 2/Phase 3 clinical trials and industry supported trials, the division is supported by a Phase 1 clinical trials program led by Dr. Rachel Turner. The Phase 1 program is unique to this area as most of the Phase 1 clinical trials are centered in large metropolitan areas. The clinical trials and research team includes 4 Research Coordinators, 2 Data Managers, and the department is supported additionally by its own Research Nurse.
The Gynecologic Oncology fellowship is a 3-year program that involves 1 year of research and 2 clinical years (both inpatient and outpatient rotations). During this time, the fellow will seek training and instruction not only from the members of our division, but from members of the departments of Surgical Pathology, Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Cancer Genetics, Radiology, Palliative Care, Internal Medicine, and Interventional Radiology.
We have provided the most current and past issues of the Annual Report which highlights the accomplishments of the Divisions, Educational and Service Programs within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as the achievements of the individual faculty in their administrative activities, honor and awards, grant support, presentations, and publications in order to give you even more insight into the OBGYN Department at URMC.
