Ashlee Lang, MPH, Joins UR CTSI as Director of the Office of Clinical Research

The UR CTSI is welcoming Ashlee Lang, MPH, as the new director of the Office of Clinical Research (OCR). Lang has more than 15 years of experience in the clinical research field, with expertise in global clinical trials, regulatory compliance, clinical laboratory science, program management, operations, and more.

“I’m honored to have been chosen as the next director of the Office of Clinical Research,” Lang said. “Previous leaders of the office have assembled a phenomenal team of research support staff, and I hope to build upon this foundation by increasing our visibility and promoting our scope of services across the entire URMC research community.”

The OCR facilitates and administers clinical trials for URMC researchers, serving to streamline and accelerate clinical discovery for successful research outcomes.

“Lang’s depth of experience made her the best choice to lead the Office of Clinical Research,” said Karen Wilson, MD, MPH, co-director of UR CTSI. “Her leadership will strengthen the office’s capability for supporting clinical trial research here at URMC. We’re lucky to have her join the institute.”

Lang gained much of her clinical research experience through work for both Kaleida Health and ACM Global Laboratories in various positions. She began her professional career as a scientist working for Ortho Clinical Diagnostics in 2006, shortly after earning a bachelor of science degree in medical technology at the State University of New York at Fredonia. She earned her public health practice graduate degree in 2012 at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

“The OCR is extremely excited to start a new chapter led by Ashlee Lang,” said Becky Dennis, MBA, clinical research finance coordinator. “Her experience will compliment not only our goals as an office, but also the goals set forth throughout the institution.”
