Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design
The Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design (BERD) team provides a range of support services in clinical research design and analysis as part of the UR CTSI Research Methods Core. The BERD group is a central source of support for translational investigators in the areas of study design, data analysis, and grantsmanship, and fosters the development of novel statistical and analytic methods for clinical and translational science research.
BERD provides support through four key activities:
- The Research Methods Forum and grant review support
- Directing researchers to a biostatistics consulting service, provided in conjunction with the Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology
- Education in statistical techniques and clinical research methods
- Funding the development of novel research methodologies
Research Methods Forum
The Research Methods Forum provides an integrative and interactive setting where investigators present new and developing research ideas and receive feedback from an interdisciplinary team of experts prior to proposal submission, with ongoing assistance in multidisciplinary team science, subsequent proposal re-review, and access to relevant resources. You can find more information about our Research Education Hub here.
