Fairport Music & Food Fest Yields Incredible Results for Kids
The Fairport Music and Food Festival has raised more than $412,825 for Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center over the past six years. The event, situated on the Eric Canal at the end of summer, boasts dozens of bands, food vendors galore and numerous children’s activities.
Andy McDermott (pictured on the left) and Rob Burch (right), who lead the fundraising group, work very closely with the Village of Fairport and with all kinds of community members, from high school athletes to local business owners, to ensure the event’s success. And boy, has this event been successful. Despite the economic downturn, the event has managed to garner record-breaking totals year after year. This year's event surpassed all expectations, raising $112,825 for Golisano Children's Hospital.
The group was awarded with the 2009 Miracle Maker Award for Outstanding Support by a Community Group, and it is with great pride that Golisano Children’s Hospital highlights the Fairport Music and Food Festival organizers in our group of Featured Supporters.
