LARC Talks
A LARC Talk was a one-hour long presentation delivered by an expert physician and a health educator with expertise in reproductive health. LARC Talks used a social and reproductive justice framework to lead a discussion about unintended teen pregnancy and evidence-based information about the safety and effectiveness of LARC. At LARC Talks, we also provided resources for referring teens who are interested in obtaining LARC to a family planning clinic that offers free and confidential services. These talks always included a free catered meal, and were held at a time and place that is convenient for any group. LARC Talks were scheduled as in-person or virtual workshops.
We recognize the important role that trusted adults play in the lives of young people. For that reason, we presented to those adults who interact with youth in a variety of ways. We talked to healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and other types of medical providers, as well as to staff at community-based organizations and positive youth development programs.
