ASCO Internship Participation Requirements
The ASCO Oncology Summer Internship (OSI) is a paid summer internship exclusively designed for rising second-year medical students from underrepresented populations. The program aims to provide training and career options in oncology. Students from racial and ethnic groups, individuals with disabilities, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds are eligible to apply for the program. Interested and eligible students can complete the ASCO interest form in January to participate in the internship.
Students accepted to participate in the 2024 Internship are asked to commit to the following:
- Have an interest in exploring oncology as a career.
- Be available to participate actively in all internship activities.
- Reside local to their medical school for the duration of the program.
- Able to participate in the in-person orientation at the 2024 ASCO Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL.
- Review any assigned education modules and materials.
- Agree to complete ASCO evaluations upon completion of 2024 OSI and in future years.
