Criteria for Entry into Animal Rooms
Non-human Primate
- Gloves, eye protection, mask, shoe covers, buttoned lab coat or gown.
- Enrollment in the UHS Occupational Health Program is required prior to entry into any non human primate room.
Dog, Rabbit, Sheep, Goat, Pig, Cat
- Gloves, shoe covers
- Enrollment in the UHS Occupational Health Program is required prior to entry into any room housing pregnant sheep.
Rodent
- Isolation gown, gloves, mask, headcover and shoe covers
- MicroIsolator Technology training is required prior to entry into rodent rooms employing MicroIsolator husbandry strategy.
Bat
- Isolation gown, gloves, eye protection, mask, and shoe covers
- Enrollment in the UHS Occupational Health Program is required prior to entry into any room housing bats.
Ferret
- Gloves, shoe covers, mask, and lab coat or gown
